THE HORIZON GALLERY is among the oldest and most respected Galleries in inland Australia. Directed by Albert (Woody) Woodroffe Albert Woodroffe, was finalist in the prestigious Country Energy Art prize for Landscape painting 2008, 2009, 2011 & 2012. “ Woody “ as he is widely known has exhibited widely throughout Australia including “Outback” Parliament House, Sydney.
He has also exhibited Internationally. Historically, Peter Browne and Albert were the first artists to establish Galleries in remote Silverton in 1987.
Today, over a quarter of a century later, The Horizon Gallery has expanded to its present site diagonally opposite the Iconic Silverton Hotel.
The Gallery holds works of the late Bronwen Standley-Woodroffe (1949 – 2010) alongside selected professional artists. Woody also maintains a studio within the Gallery.
As art tastes and education constantly alters, The Gallery carries works from the traditional genres to contemporary explorations and is widely supported by people across the whole social spectrum.
At The Horizon Gallery we include a wide range of artwork, including painting, print – making, ceramics and pottery.
The artists displayed include Albert and Bronwen Woodroffe, Clark Barrett, Royal Art Society Fellow Warwick Fuller and Lyndsay Womersley. The core group has exhibited together for over two decades.
The Gallery has a longstanding relationship with the Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia, having curated exhibitions with them in Sydney and Melbourne since 1988.
The Horizon Gallery ships artworks Nationally and Internationally.
